Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea

Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea Mint Deepsea “James Cameron” Blue Oyster 116660 FULL SET

Named for James Cameron’s record-setting solo descent to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, the Deepsea “James Cameron” is Rolex’s most extreme dive watch outside the Sea-Dweller family’s core lineup. This 2015 example wears the signature D-Blue dial, fading from a vivid blue at 12 o’clock into black at 6 o’clock, a nod to the darkness of the ocean floor at nearly 36,000 feet. Under the dial sits Rolex’s Ringlock System, a case architecture built specifically to survive extreme pressure, paired with a helium escape valve and a 3,900-meter depth rating that puts this watch well beyond the needs of recreational diving. The 44mm Oystersteel case and unidirectional Cerachrom bezel are built to take a beating, while the automatic Caliber 3135 keeps time reliably with a 48-hour power reserve. A genuinely unique piece within Rolex’s catalog, both for its backstory and its presence on the wrist.
